Don't go in yet! They're easy enough either to stomp or eat, but still be on your guard because they can be dangerous in large numbers. You have to look very closely to notice the slight reddish hue in these special coins, though. (I know, I know.) This game was later ported to the Game Boy Advance under the title Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, along with six secret stages not found in the Super NES original. After the message block telling you how things work here, note the green arrow block and hit it (either with Yoshi's head or an egg). He's little more than the aquatic equivalent of a Gargantua Blargg. Toward the end, the fourth coin from the right will give you Red Coin #14 and the last coin on the far right Red Coin #15. Simply place your cursor over the chosen card, and whatever item is underneath, you'll have a chance to add to your inventory. Make sure you're out of the way when he rises, then pelt him with an egg to make him subside briefly. Instead, wait for some Fangs to come to you and eat them to create a stock of eggs. No matter how many seeds Yoshi has left, once he enters a pipe, a door, or advances to a new area, his mouth will be empty again, so that's something to take into account. After a few Shy-Guys have emerged in the area next to the pipe, and before Yoshi swallows the Melon Bug (which he'll do with any enemy if he holds it in his mouth long enough), spit out the Melon Bug into the cluster of Shy-Guys. Once you're done, enter the door. You can hit the other Blue Boo three times for a switch and more coins if you'd like. Eat up the ghosts, and be sure to grab Red Coins #6 & #7 from the coins here. Go past a locked door across four flatbed ferries. You'll enter a top secret room. Run right through the flippers, then drop down to a second Super Star to renew Mario's powerful status. Drop down to the next level. In this game, stars can basically be thought as Yoshi's health meter of sorts. On the other side of the pit is a message block and winged cloud. Make sure you jump over a pit right after one has cleared, because even though an Incoming Chomp can't damage you directly, it can still push you into a pit if you're trying to jump while one is crashing down! Take them out by jumping on their heads three times or, better yet, just use a single ground pound. Be very careful as you ride Poochy down to this next pit of lava. Above the door is another invisible winged cloud, this one containing a switch. Use this item, however, to make them very solidly red and thus stand out. Hit the winged cloud above him to cause a stairway to appear suddenly. Jumping up the ledges, you'll find two more Melon Bugs and after them a new enemy type known as Tap-Taps. Eating him (well, his cloud anyway) removes him as a problem temporarily, but he can't be turned into an egg. As of right now, this guide covers the Super NES version only, though I may later go back and cover the GBA version at a later point. Toss an egg at each to gain coins. There are two brown platforms to the left of this pipe. Keep going down, and at another fork, continue left. The game is a midquel between Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS, and it uses a similar art style for the game. Instead, go down the nearby stairs, collecting Red Coins #7 & #8 as you go. Hit the switch to make coins appear all over the room, as well as a few ! Make sure to bring plenty of lives (Stage 7 is a great place to rack up extra lives), and try to have a 10 or 20 Point Star in your inventory if you're going for a perfect score. Whenever you see a Chomp hopping around in the background, look out because it will then jump up off-screen and come crashing down in the foreground, taking out part of the terrain and turning it into a bottomless pit. Now hit the high winged cloud in the middle of the room to create a long stairway leading up. This item is most readily found as a prize in the Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest mini-battle. You can use the rock to jump up to a locked door above, but you have no way of opening it at present. Be careful as you reach the end, however--you'll come face to face with a Gargantua Blargg! Hit the winged cloud above the pipe for five stars (Stars: 18/28). Back outside, hop over the Para-Koopa, then beware as the long vertical rock will start to sink as soon as you step on it. After you clear a world (i.e. Once the mini-battle is over, return to the platform with the three Tap-Taps. Study the ceiling as you go forward to find a cracked block--hit it with an egg to break it and reveal an opening in the ceiling. Among the three coins near the end are Red Coins #5 & #6. They're easy enough to avoid when they're simply traveling along the floor or ceiling, but then they emerge with their arms outstretched to attack every so often. After them is the yellow variety, called a Slugger. Continue right, past more Shy-Guys on Stilts and Lantern Ghosts, then ride the flatbed ferry up and out of this cave. There aren't a lot of Red Melons, so use 'em only when you need 'em. You win special items as prizes in either bonus challenges or mini-battles. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is a prequel to the Mario series and canonically likely the very first title in the series. Since the object of the game is to carry Baby Mario on Yoshi's back from one point to another, whenever you take damage, Mario will be dislodged off Yoshi's back and trapped in a bubble, crying. Pick up the four eggs on the floor if you need them, then defeat both Big Boos with ricochet throws. A pound post blocks your way. You can go inside this pipe for more Lantern Ghosts too--which is helpful in case you need to reset the dirt structure.) For the first lava pit, wait until you can see the other side, then let Poochy carry you across. Your reward will be five stars (Stars: 5/28)--you'll probably have to drop back down to the ground to collect them all (don't forget you can use Yoshi's tongue to collect them too). This may sound like a big deal, but it's nothing very special. If you're playing this one after passing through a Goal Ring, there may be some real stakes involved as it's a one-off event. Enter it. An Anytime Egg is also quite rare in this bonus challenge, so you should almost always quit and take that with you if you find one. At this point, there's only stage open to you right now, so let's get to it. Go right, then climb up the passage, and soon you'll come to some yellow stone. In the midst of the lava pit is the eponymous Poochy! There are six eggs spread throughout the platforms in here too. Be careful during this next stretch. Grab Red Coins #1 & #2 above the first Blow Hard, then do the same to obtain Red Coins #3 & #4 above a second Blow Hard immediately after the first. There is a pipe producing Shy-Guys here (you can also enter it to find more Shy-Guys), which will stop producing them once you have six eggs. Use your eggs to pelt Burt, which will gradually lower his pants. I will point out every instance of red coins in the guide below. A Milde is a weak enemy that's not much different from a Shy-Guy, except that the impact from stomping a Milde will push nearby enemies backward. So simply jump through the Goal Ring and be done with it. Continue right and hop onto a platform with a Shy-Guy and a tulip above it. Once the mini-battle is over, backtrack to where you found the key. Use the stairway you created earlier to reach the ledge on the left, where there are three eggs on the ground. It takes either six eggs, three stomps, or a single ground pound to defeat a Bandit, so I advocate just running away from this one back to the left. Jumping on one will only make Yoshi ride him instead of doing damage--you'd need to Pound The Ground for that (generally not advised because of how high Burt can jump). At the end of each stage, your score for that stage will be tabulated based on how many of the collectibles you've obtained, as follows: It's possible to carry up to a maximum of 30 stars at a time. Ride him through a line of Tap-Taps and over the deadly spike pits ahead. The message block you see here will warn you that Donut Lifts will drop after Yoshi's been standing on them for too long. Throw an egg down and to the left of there to find yet another invisible winged cloud, but this one contains a switch. Return to the ground and exit via the pipe. Except for that part, don't use ground pounds on this stuff! For each flower you collect, a flower gets added to the roulette on the Goal Ring at the end of the stage. In this darkened underground area, you'll come across a couple more Shy-Guys on Stilts you should turn into eggs. (This may take you a few tries, so I hope you have enough eggs!) The second child falls onto a solitary island full of Yoshis. Regardless of whether you earn a bonus challenge or not, your score will be tabulated at the end of each stage. Up here, venture all the way left--into the hidden passage--to find a Middle-Ring (Stars: 20/46). For now, ignore the Donut Lifts that scroll into view and navigate the paddle wheels below as you collect Red Coins #1 & #2 in the middle of the coin stash here. Collect Flower #5 afterward too. This is a good item to have if you're lacking one of the star point special items, but there are a lot of enemies around you. If he catches it, quickly run toward the right and drop down so you're level with the winged cloud. The nice thing about the Magnifying Glass is that when you use it, it's active for the whole stage--that is, unless you lose a life! This page contains all 5 Flower Locations, all 20 Red Coins, and a 30 Star walkthrough for World 2-4: Beware the Boo Brigade. Note the winged cloud in the middle near the ceiling, which contains five stars (Stars: 41/41). Jump across the next set of pipes for a Red Coin (5) and then pop the winged cloud for 5 stars. ), where I discovered it. At the end of the path is a big spring ball and a pipe. In this upper area, you'll find another pipe disgorging Lantern Ghosts. This flower-like enemy has five yellow pedals that it will shoot out at intervals. And duck if the Spinner is close to hitting you! This game was later ported to the Game Boy Advance under the title Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, along with six secret stages not found in the Super NES original. This next segment is comprised of multiple levels, so let's take them one at a time. If you have anywhere from 20 to 29 stars, then use this to boost yourself to maximum. Snag a 1-up from a Fly Guy as you progress, then stomp a couple Mildes underfoot after you jump the first gap and collect Red Coins #10 & #11. Take them both out, then go down the pipe. Then throw another egg to open it, releasing a beanstalk. But if you're playing this after finishing World 1 with a perfect score, you're free to fail and then keep returning at your leisure. Defeat the Fang and eat the watermelon you find here--Yoshi can spit watermelon seeds, not only left and right but upward as well. Step on the switch, then use the pound post you hopefully didn't pound all the way to hop back up to the top and enter the hidden pipe indicated by the flashing red arrow. Eat it and Yoshi will get ice breath! Second, if you get a perfect score in all eight regular stages of a world, then in addition to unlocking the extra stage, you'll also unlock a certain bonus challenge, depending on the world you've cleared. Under the clouds are two pairs of coins, giving you Red Coins #12 & #13 and Red Coins #14 & #15, respectively. (If you're able to stomp Lakitu, you can steal his cloud and ride in it for a short time!) Above that is a winged cloud containing five more stars if you need them (Stars: 30/30). Go right, freezing enemies with ice breath--particularly a Wild Piranha on an upward incline who almost has to be defeated (with either ice breath or an egg) if you want to get past unscathed. Defeat or avoid the Wild Piranha up ahead as you grab Red Coins #18, #19, & #20 above it. Return to the red-patterned platform where you found the last three red coins. Starting off, you'll encounter a couple Koopa Troopas patrolling large floating rectangular rocks. Take the key and backtrack across the lava to the locked door. Exactly what it says on the tin, the first enemies you'll come across as you take the path forward are three Shy-Guys on Stilts. Collect Flower #1 and eat up a couple Shy-Guys ahead. If you're exceptionally patient, you can earn up to the maximum 999 lives doing this! Just take it slow. Hop up onto higher ground and note that the winged cloud here contains the final five stars of this stage (Stars: 28/28), but I don't recommend hitting it until you've defeated all the enemies up ahead, which include not only Shy-Guys but two Woozy Guys as well--these latter are Shy-Guys who jump! Now run left and drop down a level. Then make sure to collect Red Coins #5 & #6 above the second tumbler (noting that this one is over lava, so don't dally!). with red spots), these eggs will create two stars whenever they hit an enemy. Instead, jump on one to destroy his stilts and turn him into a regular Shy-Guy you can eat or dispatch as normal. Stay off the teeter-totter ahead and aim an egg into the middle of the soft rock rectangle above it, where you'll find an invisible winged cloud. Likewise, there are 20 red coins and 5 flowers per stage, meaning you must get 100 points to obtain a perfect score for a stage. Rocks will fall from the sky and fill in on the ground Tetris-style while the screen gradually scrolls upward. Once you're ready, enter the boss door! Cross to the wooden part of the platform, but now you're impeded by a different red-patterned platform on the ceiling which currently has its spikes on the bottom. As the message block says, use eggs to break apart the dirt walls ahead--be sure to collect Red Coins #4 & #5 between the first two walls. Go all the way left, and grab the two leftmost coins in the top row to claim Red Coins #19 & #20. Here you'll find a super blue watermelon growing from a palm tree. As if that weren't enough, you'll find a tulip shortly afterward! Continue climbing and pelt a winged cloud for another five stars (Stars: 25/30). Return up and right past a Chomp Block. or extra lives ("1-up chance!"). Now backtrack to the left where the Middle-Ring was. Aim an egg down and to the right of there to find an invisible winged cloud that will drop three more stars down to you (Stars: 36/41). Drop down to the locked door and enter. This game is set in the past, when Mario is a baby, and is dropped by a stork onto Yoshi's Island. Use a hovering jump to collect the four coins you see--including Red Coins #11 & #12--as well as Flower #3 (it might be better to use an egg for this latter item). Hit the Yoshi block at the end and follow the path downward. Yoshi can grab them out of the air with his tongue before then, but because they're so small, he eats them right away and can't make eggs out of them. As the screen starts scrolling fully back to the right, nab Red Coin #15 from the Fly Guy that appears. You'll find Red Coins #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, & #6, as well as Flower #2. This guide includes a star counter for each stage, letting you know how many you can potentially have obtained and how many still remain. At any rate, break up the rock under the Bubble Dayzee to reveal an invisible winged cloud containing five more stars (Stars: 68/78). As you go down, beware of more Chomp Rocks that can easily push you right into an enemy! Make sure to collect the three coins up here as the left and right coins contain Red Coins #19 & #20. Go down the pipe that's producing the Shy-Guys to find yourself in a dark room guarded by three spark-like Piro Dangles, which circle around their blocks in the wall. Hop over the pits ahead--you'll find Red Coin #2 immediately after the third pit. Thankfully, the pit into the lava is on the far right side of the room, so all you need is to stay on the left side. Restock your eggs at the egg block here. You must carefully aim an egg so it ricochets off the right wall and up into the nook to grab the goods--if your aim is good, you'll pick up Red Coins #13, #14, #15, #16, #17, & #18 as well as Flower #5. In the present instance, there are no walls, so spit away. Keep running left while you're up there to obtain a bunch of coins, then you'll drop down. Instead, wait for the screen to scroll forward enough to see a trail of coins leading downward. Write something about yourself. This is a 100% Walkthrough of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for the Super Nintendo. Use your key to enter it. Over the fourth pit hovers a winged cloud. Collect the coins up here to obtain Red Coins #17, #18, #19, & #20. If you're pressing down and right or down and left, it won't register as a ground pound. Back at the fork, go left now and climb up until you see another Middle-Ring (Stars: 25/30), which you should activate. Note that big Big Boos do the same thing as Boo Buddies and share the same weakness (and drop a star upon their defeat)--they're just bigger. Leave and continue right. The winged cloud beyond contains the last five stars of the stage (Stars: 30/30) . Collect as many eggs from the Egg-Plant above as you need while you're here. The best place to get cheats, codes, cheat codes, walkthrough, guide, FAQ, unlockables, tricks, and secrets for Yoshi's New Island for Nintendo 3DS. when Yoshi is transformed into a vehicle) when it's harder to pause and check a guide. Jump over it and let it go its way, then follow it right. (Note that you can do multiple hovering jumps in a row by releasing the B button at the end of a flutter, then holding it down again to make Yoshi flutter his legs some more.) With your aerial errands done, continue right and enter the first pipe you see, guarded by two Wild Piranhas. If you did it correctly, the enemy will fall into the cloud and unleash five stars for you (Stars: 35/46). Down and to the left of the Middle-Ring (but not all the way down) is a locked door. As of right now, this guide covers the Super NES version only, though I may later go back and cover the GBA version at a later point. Note that you should only use it when you're at the end of a stage, right near the Goal Ring to ensure you don't take damage again. The Last of Us 2 Walkthrough and Guide Pokemon Omega Ruby Walkthrough and Str.. Dig through the dirt tunnel ahead, and make sure to emerge through the top part of the dirt at the Yoshi block where there is a Key to collect. Up ahead are annoying new enemies called Boo Blahs. Near the end, you'll see a flower, but if you go for it too soon, you'll probably end up trapped and lose a life. You can either begin World 2 now or try Extra Stage 1 and/or Bonus Challenge 1 (if they're open). Be careful, though, as a huge new enemy known as a Submarine Nep-Enut patrols these waters! It's not a particularly difficult part. Hop on his back, and he will dutifully run in whichever direction Yoshi is facing. Otherwise, use platforms to evade his pursuit and keep bouncing eggs off the wall while dodging or eating Fangs. Toss an egg up to the top of the first column to find another invisible winged cloud containing five stars (Stars: 23/78). Always be ready to dodge their projectiles! You'll fall down a long tunnel. Whenever you're in a stage you've already finished, you can exit at any time by pausing with the "Start" button, then pressing "Select." Most clouds contain five stars each (these clouds are stationary), but there are a few that contain only three (such clouds sway a little bit). Another Woozy Guy will confront you as you near a crate trapped under breakable rock. Battle past a couple Shy-Guys and a Crazee Dayzee, and watch out for one last Incoming Chomp before you reach the Goal Ring. 999 lives: Enter World 4-1 find the two long pipes that are hanging upside down. The middle coin above the second Green Glove is Red Coin #9. Make your way back to the right to a paddle wheel. Restock at the green egg block, then hit a winged cloud that's floating out over the lava to create a platform and give yourself safe passage. Afterward is the cave's exit and the Goal Ring. Use the Eggo-Dil here to stock up on eggs. Ride him over the rest of the lava and leap onto the high ledge afterward. However many stars you have is how many seconds you have to get Mario back (you can pop Baby Mario's bubble by having Yoshi touch it or by using Yoshi's tongue). You can stun Blow Hards for a short time but can't defeat them fully. A bonus challenge is a brief mini-game that allows you to win either special items ("Item chance!") Jump and/or toss eggs to pick up Red Coins #5, #6, & #7 above the door. a Shy-Guy with a propeller on his head, enabling him to fly) holding a winged cloud. If you got the key in the early part of the stage, you can enter and face a Bandit in the following mini-battle: Popping Balloons. Execute a ground pound anywhere nearby to stun them. Like Gusties, they're easy enough taken alone, but in large groups like this, they can pose a problem if you're not careful. Ahead are four more floating rocks--all except the tall slender rock will sink once you land on them, so move quickly! As soon as you reach clearing to the right of the big spring ball (immediately after a red arrow sign), there is an invisible winged cloud against the wall, high above you. There are enemies called Cloud Drops patrolling this area--hitting one will cause Yoshi to tumble momentarily, but thankfully they won't take away any stars or endanger Baby Mario as long as Yoshi is in his transformed state. After the message block, you'll find three different colored eggs under three Shy-Guys. Go forward and use another egg to claim Flower #4 in the stone. Bonus game: Hold Select and press X(2), Y, B, A on any stage select (map) screen. Instead, this game saves automatically after you clear any stage. Furthermore, once you collect the twentieth and final red coin in a stage, a different sound effect will let you know you've collected them all. Continue past it, and make sure you get out of the sunken gap in the ground before a large rock falls out of the sky and crushes you. Yniguide444.png Stock up on eggs from the Egg Block and head to the right. Hop onto the ledge on the other side, below some coins, and get ready--there is a Bill Blaster in your face about to fire! Watch out for Lava Bubbles as you cross the purple paddle wheel ahead and make your way to solid ground. Now run all the way left and get past a Little Mouser as you uncover an invisible winged cloud at the end of this passage. Or at least it would be if it weren't for the sunken sections of the floor where you can hide out. This is why the general suggestion for this game is to play through each stage for the first time without worrying about score--just make your way to the Goal Ring and enjoy yourself. Gobble up a Woozy Guy jumping nearby and let the Egg-Plant refill your egg supply. It works on any level that has a metamorphosis bubble, but it works best on level 5-5 (Goonie Rides!! In general, try to stay on these platforms as little as possible. Avoid it, then pound the crate it was guarded for a variable number of stars--sometimes as many as five or six, sometimes as few as one or none (hence why I didn't add them to the star counter for this stage). Now position yourself on top of this second message block and use a mighty hovering jump off to the left to land on the ceiling above the screen. You can pause by pressing the "Start" button anytime to look up your score. If you're particularly skilled, you can bounce a green egg a couple times (so that it turns first yellow and then red) and catch it with Yoshi's tongue to now carry around a red egg. Then pound the two right posts, as the center one will give you an invisible winged cloud with a 1-up inside, while the rightmost post will yield Red Coin #17 when pounded all the way down. Above it is a winged cloud holding Flower #5. Four ordinary coins are after that, followed by a winged cloud containing five stars (Stars: 20/30)--these will be tricky to catch if Yoshi is dizzy! It's especially useful for certain hard-to-reach collectibles that require tricky aiming techniques to obtain. (You can also go inside the pipe to find more Lantern Ghosts.) Push the Chomp Rock ahead of you to the right--preferably over the two Shy-Guys ahead--and make sure to stop it when there's a gap in the ceiling. But how to open it? Hitting Burt six times will lower his pants completely and cause him to wither away in bashful embarrassment. (You are first given the option to continue or exit, in case you hit it by accident or change your mind.)
